Femmes, Creation & Production celebrates its fifth anniversary on november 13-14-15, 2009 at the Karibe Convention Center, Petion Ville, Haiti. This unusual cultural and business event brings together over 100 women artisans, designers, manufacturers, rural producers throughout Haiti including the diaspora.
Recognized as the Haitian major annual trade fair, Femmes, Creation & Production has real niche appeal showcasing high quality crafts, gifts, fashion and home décor accessories, herbal and spa products all in one location. During three days, new ranges are introduced and trends in Haitian art, craft and fashion revealed.
Femmes, Creation & Production 2009 will launch the Yon Lakou- Yon Village initiative supported by USAID funded program KATA and the InterAmerican Development Bank (IDB). This initiative is modeled after the Japanese movement One Village – One Product. It seeks to facilitate market-oriented production and to promote value added production of traditional and niche products from artisan’s villages.
This annual event supported by the Haitian Government, the European Commission, Groupe Sogebank and Digicel is organized by “Voix Essentielles - Femmes en Démocratie”, a Haitian non-profit organization, affiliated to the growing international women network Vital Voices. |
